WBO super lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez has hit two birds with one stone, as his recent social media post is not only in support of boxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya but is also a jibe at Lopez’s former training partner Rolly Romero.
The beef started with Romero’s recent Twitter post on 22nd January, where the current WBA super lightweight champion addressed his promoter Al Haymon as the “real man in charge”, and not De La Hoya.
The post is made in the wake of the Ryan Garcia vs. Rolly Romero fight talks fell apart, with De La Hoya alleging that Romero had “priced himself out”. What followed was a callout by Romero, addressing De La Hoya as “Oscar de la Fishnets” in their Instagram conversation.
Sharing the screenshot of their conversation, Romero also called De La Hoya as a “Drug addicted Con-man”.
Al Haymon > Drug addicted Con-man
Amazon > DAZN
Good luck ✌🏾

In another post on X, Romero dissed De La Hoya again, as well as Garcia and DAZN, while sharing a poster of his recently confirmed fight with Pitbull Cruz, which will be on Amazon Prime.
Fuck Princess Ryan Garcia, Fuck Oscar de la Fishnets, and fuck Dazn the shittiest streaming network out there for wasting my time, and more importantly wasting the entire boxing worlds time. It’s disgusting to see how you guys do business, then trying to go behind my back… pic.twitter.com/tgIpYR4T1X

“#HowDareYouDisrespectTheLegend”- Teofimo Lopez lashes out at Rolly Romero
However, De La Hoya has found Teofimo Lopez, the former WBA (Super), IBF and WBO champ at 135 pounds, who has stood up for the Hall Of Famer and former six divison world champion boxer.
Taking to X, Lopez shared an old sparring clip of him and Romero from 2017, where “The Takeover” is seen absolutely battering his training partner, along with calling the WBA titleholder as a “fake champ”, saying that he will handle him now like he did back then.
“Don’t worry [Oscar De La Hoya], if it comes to it, I’ll handle this fake champ like I did back in 2017,” read the caption on Lopez’s post, along with the hashtags “#HowDareYouDisrespectTheLegend” and “#RevengeOnRolly”.
