Wolves eSports was founded on 7th November 2016 as the esports arm of the football club based in Wolverhampton. The division originally hosted a professional FIFA team and teams in Overwatch, CounterStrike and PUBG tournaments as well.

Now, they have announced their entry in the Rocket League Championship Series, hosted by Psyonix, the developers of Rocket League. The official announcement came from Russell Jones, the General Manager for Wolves Marketing and Commercial Growth.

“We are thrilled to announce the launch of a Wolves esports Rocket League team. Millions of people around the world are playing Rocket League and, given its similarities to football, it felt like the perfect next step into esports,” Jones stated on November 5th.
