The New Day showcased a great performance on RAW

This week’s edition of Raw featured a No.1 contender’s tag team turmoil match for the RAW tag team championships. The New Day was the first team to enter the match. They had a great match against The Viking Raiders and even ended up eliminating them. Woods and Kingston went on to eliminate Jinder Mahal and Veer as and quite interestingly The Lucha House Party, and then Mace and T-Bar.

But, following their elimination, Mace and T-Bar laid a gruesome assault on The New Day and Mansoor and Mustafa Ali, who were next in line for the match. The match was postponed due to the chaos and later in the night, The New Day continued their winning streak by eliminating Ali and Mansoor. However, they were defeated by AJ Styles and Omos, who ultimately lost the championship opportunity as they suffered a loss against WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and MVP.

However, they carried on to hold the shows at Performance Center earlier and eventually moved to ThunderDome.

For the first time in over a year, they allowed the fans to attend their flagship pay-per-view, WrestleMania 37 and now bigger plans are on the plate.

WWE has confirmed the news of returning to live events in July

There have been rumors about WWE hitting the road again and now they have officially announced that they will be returning to live events. The company made the announcement through its social media platforms and a press release.

It was confirmed that WWE will return to live events with a 25-city tour from July through Labor Day. The last WWE show before the pandemic hit which saw a full capacity crowd was back in March 2020 in Washington, D.C.

WWE also announced that the July 16 edition of SmackDown will start the events and will hold live events the entire weekend in the Texas area, including the Money In The Bank pay-per-view which is set to take place on July 18.WWE’s upcoming tour will start with three shows in Texas, which are as follows: .

Friday, July 16: SmackDown – Toyota Center in Houston
Sunday, July 18: Money In The Bank – Dickies Arena in Fort Worth
Monday, July 19: Raw – American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Tickets for these three events go on sale this Wednesday, May 26 at 11 a.m ET.

However, the press release did not confirm the location for this year’s ‘Biggest Party of The Summer’- Summerslam event. However, additional stops for the 25-city tour through Labor Day will be announced in the future.

However, Sports Illustrated had recently reported that SummerSlam 2021 will take place in Nevada. The fans had an exciting time coming back to the shows and they will be eager to return to the shows for good. We will have to see how WWE has planned for the return and what could be the possible plans for the upcoming tours.

The company issued a very short and brief statement on their website which read, Drew McIntyre has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been placed in quarantine.

The Scottish Psychopath was slated to face Randy Orton in a non-title match on RAW. But due to the current circumstances, the match will be scrapped off from the show card. Randy Orton is still expected to wrestle in the main event with a replacement wrestler.

While the announcement of the wrestler testing positive for the virus was made only hours before RAW, the champ is expected to address the same during the red brand’s airing.

McIntyre’s appearance on RAW ended up being a pre-recorded message where he confirmed that he has been tested positive and is currently isolating. He called for unity to defeat the virus that has taken over the world. Asserting the importance of wearing masks and abiding by the social distancing norms, he signed off by stating that he expects to be with the fans soon.

Triple H was announced for today and he opened the show with a promo only to be interrupted by the Viper, leading to a challenge for the main event of the show.

McIntyre’s plans heading into WrestleMania

The former member of the 3MB, McIntyre won back the title from Randy Orton and is currently on his second reign with the gold.

He defended the WWE Championship last week during the RAW Legends Night episode where he defeated Keith Lee before being confronted by Goldberg.

The tense confrontation between the stars of two different eras hinted towards a match at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

However, with the current champion being sidelined as a result of the virus, it is uncertain whether the WWE will carry on with the initial plan or improvise.

It is evident that the third hour of the show often witnesses slump in the ratings.Thereby, he decided to switch the brands and chose Raw over SmackDown.

He also said that his aim was to get the crowd to watch the live show on the red brand, the place where ‘The Monster Among Men’ gained popularity.

The former WWE Universal Champion said, “The third hour of Raw sometimes falls off with ratings, so I pitched an idea to bring ‘The Monster Among Men’ to Raw Underground.

He continued, “It’s so easy now to watch parts of the show on social media after it happens, but my goal is to get people to watch our live product. That’s a huge factor why I went to Raw, which is where I made a name for myself.”

Braun Strowman was recently drafted to Monday Night Raw during 2020 WWE Draft. Now, that he has moved permanently, he wants to display the best work that he can provide and is also eyeing to capture the Universal Championship once again.

Strowman said, “For me, being a WWE superstar is like a candlelight, and there is much to accomplish before it burns out. So I’m bringing my absolute best to Raw. This is a big time for me, and it’s a chance for me to make a mark and win that one world title that has eluded me.”

Braun Strowman is a member of Team Raw along with AJ Styles, Keith Lee, Sheamus and Matt Riddle as they will take on Team SmackDown at Survivor Series, scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 22 in WWE ThunderDome in Orlando, Florida.

R-Truth reveals how he almost planned to exit WWE

Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Owens said: “hurt my ankle at Wrestlemania so I needed time off, and then I came back—and then I went away again. I just felt like it was the right move for my family and I to sit out a few of the tapings of Raw and assess the Covid outbreak. We live in Orlando, so it’s not just going to the Performance Center. It’s everywhere. We thought it was the right time to quarantine and practice safe guidelines. Last week, I saw the measures that the company was taking, from the testing to the splitting up the crews to make sure Raw and SmackDown wouldn’t be there the same day, and sending out very clear very indications that masks were required unless we were in the ring.”

“It’s been brought up—at first, the masks weren’t being taken seriously enough,” Owens said. “Eventually, a fine system was implemented to make sure people took it seriously. That came from me. I thought that the masks weren’t being worn seriously enough, so I went and talked to the people in charge. They immediately did what they could to remedy the situation. I don’t blame anybody for the mask thing. It’s easy to forget how important those masks are. Some people just straight up believe that the masks don’t make a difference, and that’s their belief. But if we’re all going to work together and we’re all trying to keep each other safe, I think it matters.

“If you’ve had somebody in your family affected by this the way my family was, it’s a lot easier to remember that these masks make a huge difference. These masks do make a difference, and I felt it was important for people to take that seriously. I was pleased that the company felt the same way and made sure to get the message out to everybody that this is a big deal. That’s why, in the end, I decided to come back. I feel comfortable going back to work, and I feel as safe as I can be there,” Owens added.
