Big E wins WWE Intercontinental Championship for the second time

On the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Big E squared off against his long time rival, Sami Zayn in a Lumberjack match with WWE Intercontinental Championship up for grabs.

After a brutal back and forth match, Big E pinned Sami Zayn for a three count and started his reign as the Intercontinental Champion for the second time.

He had previously won the title back in 2013 when he used to be a singles competitor. He was a part of The New Day stable for a long time alongside Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

The group was split during the 2020 WWE Draft when Kingston and Woods were drafted to Monday Night Raw, while E was drafted to SmackDown.

Reports suggested that the stable was split to give Big E a push as a singles competitor and now as the situation is growing, he is getting the deserved push.

Following the match, the Lumberjacks who were babyfaces celebrated with the former New Day member.

The new Intercontinental Champion also told the commentator Corey Graves “The prophecy is fulfilled. I told you! I told you, baby! I told you!” referring to his win, and even shook hands with Graves.

In the backstage interview, E addressed his victory against Zayn and share his thoughts as the new Intercontinental Champion.

He said: ” I went to work on the boy Sami Zayn, and I did what I had to do to become your Intercontinental Champion for the second time.”

He added: “Don’t forget 2013, I was doing my thing back then too. I went to work on that boy’s behind! I said I opened up his cheeks and I said I’m doing construction here.”

Big E carries great potential in him and he is capable of competing in the company as a main event star. It is to be seen how WWE plays the title reign of the newly crowned Intercontinental Champion.

Jeff Hardy Challenged Styles And Zayn Following A Singles Match Between The Two

On the latest episode of Smackdown Live, AJ Styles faced Sami Zayn in a singles encounter. The competitive match ended with Zayn’s finishing move, The Helluva Kick, was ducked by Styles, and the former somehow managed to roll the later up for a pinfall event.

The referee noticed Zayn holding the tights of Styles for an unfair advantage and did not count the fall. Suddenly, Styles executed a pinfall attempt from behind which led to his victory.

After a bit of after-match shenanigans, Jeff Hardy came out and attacked both Zayn and Styles. He took a microphone that he was sick and tired of the Intercontinental title situation. He was sick of being called a cheat and tired of being called a fraud. Hardy went on to challenge them both to a triple threat ladder match at Clash of Champions.

Hardy has been on a rivalry against both men in recent weeks, with Styles eyeing another chance on the Intercontinental Championship and Zayn claiming that he is still the rightful champion as he did not lose it in a match but was stripped off it.

Hardy, alongside his brother Matt, worked as enhancement talents for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) from 1994, and were signed to full-time contracts in 1998. They gained fame in the tag team division, partly due to their participation in Tables, Ladders and Chairs matches. With the addition of Lita, the team became known as Team Xtreme and continued to rise in popularity. Alongside Matt, he has held twelve world tag team championships between WWE, TNA and ROH.

Hardy has had success as a singles wrestler as well, capturing his first of six world championships, the WWE Championship in 2008 and going on to hold WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship twice and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship three times.

He has also won the WWE Intercontinental Championship five times, the WWE Hardcore Championship three times and the WWE European, Light Heavyweight, and United States Championships once each.

He is the 18th Triple Crown Champion and 9th Grand Slam Champion in WWE history, one of five men to complete both WWE Grand Slam formats, and one of two to win all original Grand Slam titles. Between WWE, Impact, and ROH, Hardy has held 29 total championships.

Ronda Rousey hints WWE return, names the wrestler she wants to face in the ring!

WWE Intercontinental Champion AJ Styles has multiple challenges coming in his way, including ‘The Original Bro’ Matt Riddle. Styles is certain to win matches against the challengers and wants to face The Undertaker in a match for his Championship.

In an interview with Vibe and Wrestling, Styles was asked whether he would give a title shot to The Undertaker. Styles took the opportunity to reply to the affirmative.

Although Styles knows the match is very improbable to actually take place in real life, he has no problem giving his all against The Undertaker in front of an audience. Styles’ cinematic Boneyard match against The Undertaker was obviously held without any audience.

“Yes, definitely. If that means that he returns to a ring and we face in front of thousands of people, I would not hesitate for a moment. But will it happen? Would he be able to accept it? Probably not,” AJ Styles said.

Styles also spoke about the long in ring career of The Undertaker and the hardships and struggle that comes with it. “If he decided that his career is over, I respect it. He has already done everything he had to do and has said: ‘That’s it, I have had enough’ and believe me, I know what it is like. I can’t imagine doing what he has done for so long; it’s hard. I can’t… So I think he has earned the right to say ‘enough’ when he has thought it was convenient, but obviously I would offer him that opportunity.”
