Seattle Seahawks fans were shocked to receive the news of Pete Carroll stepping down from his role as head coach of the side after a 14-year-long tenure. Hip Hop legend Snoop Dogg revealed that he had been the first person to talk with Carroll after his surprise exit from the Seattle Seahawks.
Snoop Dogg told Fox Sports during a media event for the promotion of his upcoming football movie, “The Underdoggs”
“Pete Carroll – I called him the minute they fired him, because that’s my friend,” Snoop said. “His spirits were up high and he was looking forward to another team calling him.”
“That’s what coaches do, they don’t go ‘oh man, they fired me, I’m going to lose my mind. Nah, who is the next team in town, I would love to coach there. Oh, they got a great quarterback, they need this. That’s what we do as coaches.”
Where does Snoop Dogg want Pete Carroll to end up?
When Snoop Dogg was asked where he wanted to see Carroll end up? he answered
“He wanted to go to the (Los Angeles) Chargers,” Snoop Dogg replied. “That’s what he wanted. But I don’t know if they want him.”
As per reports, Carroll will still be a part of Seattle’s project as he is accepting an undefined role as an “Advisor” to the side. However, Pete Carroll will be looking for opportunities as a head coach elsewhere. The 72-year-old is one of the best coaches to ever grace the league, despite his age teams will be interested in him as he brings tons of experience and expertise.
“they’re not football people” Pete Carroll reveals the reason behind the move.
Carroll hinted at the reason behind the move. He revealed how the upper management of the side including team owner Jody Allen didn’t share the same vision with the legendary coach
“The difficult part is, if you guys could know, it’s really hard because they’re not football people,” Carroll said to Seattle Sports 710 AM, according to ESPN. “They’re not coaches, and so to get to the real details of it is really difficult for other people.”
It will be interesting to see who will be Seattle’s new head coach. Seattle is an exciting team with lots of talented players and it will require an equally capable head coach for the job.
