Ryan Garcia is eyeing a clash against Rolly Romero- and sees it as a opporunity to avenge Ismael Barroso.

After the setback against Gervonta Davis on April 22 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Ryan Garcia is close to returning to the ring and could be facing Rolando “Rolly” Romero, as the newly crowned WBA Super Lightweight champion wants to face “KingRy” as soon as possible and has been calling for the fight since defeating the 40-year-old Barroso earlier this month via a controversial 9th round KO.
Even though the win earned Romero the vacant WBA belt, he has not been accepted as champion by many fans, since they believe that the young boxer had an advantage over Barroso. The veteran was winning the fight, but after receiving several blows from Romero, the referee stopped the fight to award the latter the stoppage.
Romero is one hundred percent convinced that he can defeat Garcia just like “Tank” Davis did. It should be noted that Romero has also faced Davis and lost via knockout, even through it was arguably a better performance when compared to Garcia’s.
Following Romero’s callout, Garcia took to Twitter to respond to him, assuring that he is ready to take on the challenge and that he will see it as a opportunity to avenge the loss the aging Barroso suffered against Romero.
