The third matchday of Week 8 of the 2020-21 NBA season has concluded and its time to take a look back at the scores and highlights of the matches and standings of the teams.
Wizards 115 – 137 Raptors
Toronto Raptors clinched their fourth win in their six game road trip, thrashing Washington Wizards at the Capital One Arena.
Norman Powell led the visitors with 28 points, followed by Pascal Siakam scoring 26. Chris Boucher landed a double-double.
Mavericks 118 – 117 Hawks
Trailing behind Atlanta Hawks into the second half, Dallas Mavericks went on a final quarter scoring spree to narrowly escape to a victory at the American Airlines Center.
With 28 points plus 10 rebounds and assists each, Luka Dončić’s triple double stole the show for the hosts. Jalen Brunson scored 21.
Timberwolves 112 – 119 Clippers
Los Angeles Clippers cruised to their 18th win this season, defeating Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.
Kawhi Leonard scored a season-high 36 points, along with 27 points that came from Lou Williams.
Grizzlies 130 – 114 Hornets
A third quarter rally helped Memphis Grizzlies upset Charlotte Hornets at the FedExForum.
Ja Morant clocked 15 points and 11 assists to finish with a double double, while Kyle Anderson scored 27, negating Terry Rozier’s 34 points for the visitors.
Nets 104 – 94 Pacers
Bouncing back after three straight defeats, a spectacular first half domination kept Brooklyn Nets ahead of Indiana Pacers till the end at the Barclays Center.
Kyrie Irving shined with a score of 35, along with James Harden securing 11 rebounds for 19 points.
Bulls 129 – 116 Pelicans
Double 40 point quarters with 25 three-pointers in total powered Chicago Bulls to outflank New Orleans Pelicans at the United Center.
Zach LaVine topped the scoreboard with 46 points 7 rebounds and 4 assists, followed by Coby White who landed a score of 30.
Nuggets 133 – 95 Cavaliers
Denver Nuggets kept themselves ahead of Cleveland Cavaliers throughout the four quarters to sweep up a victory at the Ball Arena.
Nikola Jokić finished with 12 points and 12 assists, with 22 points coming from Paul Millsap.
Lakers 114 – 113 Thunder
Oklahoma City Thunder gave another tough challenge to Los Angeles Lakers to push the game into OT for the second straight time, but the hosts had the last laugh with a close win at the Staples Center.
LeBron James finished with 25 points, with Montrezl Harrell scoring 20.
Suns 125 – 124 Bucks
A thrilling back and forth at the Talking Stick Resort Arena concluded in Phoenix Suns edging out Milwaukee Bucks to a narrow victory.
Giannis’ brilliant double-double of 47 points and 11 rebounds couldn’t save the visitors as Devin Booker and Chris Paul put up scores of 30 and 28 points respectively.
