On Tuesday, 40 of the top-ranked eNASCAR drivers will tackle the Grand Prix layout of Brands Hatch Circuit, situated in Kent, England. This marks the first time the series will compete at Brands Hatch, and it’s only the second race in series history held outside the United States.

The road course races in 2024 will feature a special format, akin to the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup. It includes both a Sprint and a Feature race.

The Sprint race spans 15 laps, setting the grid for the Feature. No points are scored at the end of the Sprint race. The Feature race consists of 30 laps, with normal eNASCAR points awarded at its conclusion.

“iRacing” shared a video of the green flag at Brands Hatch and the defending champion was in the lead as the green flag was waved for the 15-lap Sprint race. The question is what made Brands Hatch a special track? Let’s take a look at it.

Why is eNASCAR racing at Brands Hatch?

Brands Hatch, once the home of the British Grand Prix, lies 30 miles southeast of London.

The circuit opened in the 1920s as a three-quarter mile dirt track and has undergone several reconfigurations.

The current Grand Prix circuit and the shorter “Indy” Circuit were established in 2003.

Although safety concerns led the British Grand Prix to move to Silverstone in 1987, Brands Hatch continues to host prestigious international and national events, including the British Touring Car, Formula 3, and Superbike Championships.

Notable drivers like Derek Daly, Mark Webber, and Jenson Button have graced the Brands Hatch circuit during events like the Formula Ford Festival.
