Cowboys owner believes Mike McCarthy is the key to success
Jones believes in Mike McCarthy’s ability to lead the team and ensures success is just a matter of time with the head coach at realm. In his statement, he mentioned “I believe this team is very close and capable of achieving our ultimate goals and the best step forward for us will be with Mike McCarthy as our head coach. There is great benefit to continuing the team’s progress under Mike’s leadership as our head coach.”

The Cowboys lost 48-32 to the Green Bay Packers at the AT&T Stadium in the Wild Card Round. This takes Mike’s record at the Cowboys to 1-3 in the post-season games. In his last 3 seasons, he has failed to win the Wild Card Round twice with the previous losses to the Packers and San Francisco 49ers. His 2022 Wild Card Round win was against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Mike McCarthy has posted great numbers in the regular season consistently with the Cowboys but has failed to advance to a conference title game. Mike was hired to replace Jason Garrett in the hopes of winning a Super Bowl. Mike won the Super Bowl XLV with the Packers in 2010. However, he is still to replicate such a feat with the Cowboys.
Jones is optimistic about the future of the Cowboys under Mike McCarthy as he believes Mike has the prowess to succeed in the post-season games. He stated, “Certainly, Mike’s career has demonstrated postseason success at a high level, and we have great confidence that can continue.”
Under Mike, there has been a considerable enhancement in the performances of various players, with the most eye-catching being that of quarterback Dak Prescott. Jones has taken notice of the progress in the locker room as well. He praised McCarthy as he commented, “There are many layers of success that have occurred this season as a result of Mike’s approach to leading the team, both with individual players and with our team collectively.”

The Cowboys are moving into a state of review and restructuring of the roster after another year of early exit. With Jones and Mike working together, it is quite clear that the Cowboys are looking for success very soon. Mike would look to continue his reign at the Cowboys with eyes on the prestigious Super Bowl.
