Formula E announces NXT GEN Support Series cancellation
The NXT Gen Cup, which was set to be the world’s first 100% electric junior touring car cup, was eagerly anticipated to make its debut on the Formula E schedule during this weekend’s Misano E-Prix double-header. Unfortunately, unforeseen challenges encountered by the support series have led to a change in plans. As a result, the NXT Gen Cup will no longer be part of the World Championship calendar for Season 10.
“NXT GEN’s participation at the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship has been cancelled for Season 10 due to unexpected constraints faced by the support series,” a Formula E spokesperson stated.
Despite this setback, Formula E remains committed to providing exciting racing action for fans. The upcoming Misano E-Prix has undergone positive adjustments to ensure minimal disruption and expanded activities. These include pit-lane autograph sessions, additional pit walks, and promotional track activities. Additionally, Formula E continues to prioritize nurturing the next generation of talent through initiatives like FIA Girls on Track and other impactful programs for young people.
