The Dallas Mavericks have had nearly a week off before the NBA Finals, but unfortunately, their star player Luka Doncic’s lower-body injury hasn’t healed. Doncic recently spoke to reporters and candidly revealed that his knee and ankle “didn’t get any better” during the extended rest period.
Doncic suffered a sprained knee during Game 3 of the first round of the playoffs against the L.A. Clippers. Despite the injury, he played through it and helped secure a first-round series victory. In the second round of the playoffs, during Game 2, Doncic also dealt with an ankle injury.
Asked Luka Doncic if the long layoff between games has helped with the recovery of his knee/ankle. He said “it didn’t get any better,” but it’s been great to have some rest.
He was also asked about Chandler Parsons’ comments regarding his relationship with Kristaps Porzingis. pic.twitter.com/UwHtQ1ewTE

Remarkable Performance From Luka Doncic Despite Injuries
Despite these setbacks, Doncic has been nothing short of exceptional. He’s averaged 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists per game on 43 percent shooting, all while not missing a single game due to either injury. His resilience and determination have been crucial for the Mavericks.
As the NBA Finals begin, Luka Doncic’s injury status remains a concern. If he continues to play through the pain, he could be the key star in this series. However, Dallas will need to tread carefully, as noticeable limitations on the court could impact their offensive strategies.
The Boston Celtics, their opponents in the Finals, will likely focus on defending Doncic. Even if he plays all the games, the Celtics will have their work cut out for them. Kyrie Irving, known for his defensive prowess, may play a crucial role in containing the Mavericks’ star player.
