LiAngelo Ball was released by the Detroit Pistons without a single minute of game time across the two preseason games played so far. The 22-year-old was acquired by the franchise on a training camp contract. LaVar Ball lashed out at the Pistons after his son was released from the franchise.

LiAngelo had signed a one-year non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract with the Pistons on December 3rd. The contract allows a player to play the preseason games before moving on to NBA’s G-League with a minimum salary devoid of any bonuses.

The Detroit Pistons are yet to give an explanation as to why LiAngelo was released along with forwards Louis King and Anthony Lamb.

LaVar Ball slammed the NBA side by branding them as ‘raggedy’ and called out their inability to recognise a good player right in front of them.

“I definitely have thoughts on that, The people in Detroit are great. I love the fans, but the franchise over there is raggedy as hell. They don’t know a good player. I was giving them a lottery pick for free! Has the skills to play and the notoriety to bring everybody to the game. How do you throw that out the window?

“They’re gonna learn the hard way. My boys are gonna end up together playing somewhere. ‘Gelo can shoot the lights out. That was raggedy what they did. But hey, they’re gonna learn the hard way,” LaVar stated during a Q&A session with Bleacher Report.

Unlike his brothers who have settled in with a contract with an NBA franchise, LiAngelo is yet to secure a berth in the league. This prolongs the wait of LaVar Ball, who intends to see all of his sons play in the NBA together.

While LiAngelo could still be picked by a team in the NBA, the odds are unlikely and the next route for the point guard is likely to be the G-League or an overseas league. He had entered the 2018 NBA Draft but failed to find any suitors.

On the other hand, Lonzo Ball has settled in with the New Orleans Pelicans while LaMelo Ball was recently roped in by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2020 NBA Draft.
