NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick recently stepped into the spotlight once again, not as a commentator but as a driver. Despite retiring from full-time competition at the end of the 2023 season, Harvick is set to return to the asphalt for next month’s All-Star Race. His destination? The prestigious Hendrick Motorsports shop, where he underwent a seat fitting that left him immensely impressed.
Ahead of next month’s All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway, Harvick arrived at Hendrick Motorsports ready for his seat fitting. He met with Larson’s crew chief, Cliff Daniels, and what followed was a seamless process. Harvick marveled at how smoothly everything unfolded. Here’s what he had to say:

“You’re talking about a guy who has never stepped foot in Hendrick Motorsports, and I’ve had the interaction with Cliff Daniels like I was the driver of this car. I walk into the shop, his car chief comes and gets me. I ask my questions about this or that, and I get in the car – ‘You know what we changed? Nothing. Not one thing. We didn’t move a heel stop, we didn’t adjust a pedal, we didn’t change a seatbelt. We didn’t change anything.’”
Kevin Harvick Praises HMS’ Attention to Detail
Harvick acknowledged that Hendrick Motorsports sought assistance from his former Stewart-Haas crew chief, Rodney Childers, for some of the measurements. However, the real magic lay in execution. The team’s ability to answer every question and anticipate every detail left Kevin Harvick in awe:
“The point is the ability to execute the details… in today’s world not every team has the ability to answer the quiz with all the questions already answered for them. You still have to take the answers and apply them to your situation whether it’s your car, your driver, your team, your process – whatever that is.”
As Kevin Harvick prepares to climb back into the cockpit, he carries with him the legacy of a Daytona 500 champion and the admiration for Hendrick Motorsports’ precision. The All-Star Race awaits, and fans can’t wait to see Harvick back in action. The North Wilkesboro Speedway will witness a blend of experience and excellence—a fitting tribute to the sport’s rich history.
