One of the most notable figures in the bodybuilding community of this era, Chuck Kirkendall aka Kali Muscle has sustained a major cardiac arrest and has been hospitalized. The 46-year-old, who maintains a YouTube channel with almost two and a half million subscribers, revealed the news via a video that he suffered the heart attack on 7th November, just a day after fellow bodybuilder Shawn Rhoden, also aged 46, lost his life to a cardiac arrest.

Some people don’t get second chances: Kali Muscle speaks to his fans with teary eyes

Through a 9 minute and 10 seconds video on his channel titled ‘I ALMOST DIED’, Kali revealed that suffering the heart attack had been the ‘scariest moment’ in his life, especially with Rhoden’s sudden death in the same manner just a day prior.

According to reports, Kali was suffering from chest aches and primarily thought of it as heartburn and it was his girlfriend who rushed him to the hospital in Los Angeles. A claim made by Fitness Volt suggested that Kali’s artery was 100% clogged.

As of now, Kali is still admitted to the hospital and will undergo surgery within a day or two. In the video, Kali spoke to his fans, asking them to look after their health because not everyone gets a second chance at life, mentioning Rhoden.

“Make sure you guys take care of your health. That’s what I’ve been talking to you about anyway. And you know, God is using me as an example. Cause as we just saw, you know, RIP Shawn Rhoden,” said Kali, while holding back his tears, “Some people don’t get a second chance, man. I got my twins and I gotta live, man.”

Hailing from Oakland, Kali Muscle has often appeared in commercials for Taco Bell, GEICO, Snickers, Comcast, Honda and many more, including the Geico ad where he is the one directing traffic.

Kali made his acting debut with the  unaired television pilot of Wonder Woman in 2011, playing the role of a super soldier. He has also reprised roles in other TV shows such as Mr. Sunshine, Wilfred, Workaholics and Raising Hope.
