John Fury Planning Mike Tyson Confrontation At Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou Fight Week

Its only a week before he sees his son take on Francis Ngannou in the squared circle, John Fury is planning something for himself as well, and that is- confronting the one and only Mike Tyson.

On this 28th of October in Riyadh, WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will be facing former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in a 10-round exhibition crossover boxing match.

Ngannou, who will mark his boxing debut through the bout, has been preparing under the mentorship of Mike Tyson, the boxing legend who believes that “The Predator” has a puncher’s chance to shock Fury and pull off a massive upset.

All that being said, the Fury camp has already had another huge upset, with both Tyson and John seeing “Iron Mike” siding with Ngannou for the fight. John Fury, who even named his son after the former undisputed heavyweight champion, feels betrayed to see Tyson on the opposite side.

During a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, the Briton insisted that while “The Gypsy King” takes on Ngannou, he wants to lock horns with Tyson himself.

“[I’d like to fight] Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson, I’m going to the top of the tree. And he’s a traitor, and I’m going to tell him so in Saudi next week. Next week, he’ll be told,” said John Fury.

It’s probably going to be Tyson’s quickest knockout: John Fury

Ngannou, who is entering the fight as a massive underdog, recently had an open workout to showcase the skills he has learned under Tyson’s training. Despite that, many believe that a knockout from Fury is waiting for him.

John Fury is also on the same boat, and has also predicted that his son will do quick work of Ngannou in the ring.

“I hope he’s kidding along and he’s playing possum here. I hope that’s a joke and intended to be a laugh. Because if it’s not, he ain’t got a prayer. He ain’t got a cat in hell’s chance. He won’t get out of the first round. It’s probably going to be Tyson’s quickest knockout,” John Fury insisted.

“But you know what? It’s got to be kidology, that. It’s got to be fun and games. Because if that’s what he’s got, well, God help him, he’ll get smashed to bits. That’s all I’m saying, mate. That’s embarrassing. If that’s what he can do on a public workout, don’t bother doing a public workout. It’s a disgrace,” he added. [H/T Boxing Scene]
