Houston Rockets are having a hard time to keep their ace player James Harden in check. The latest blow involves James Harden violating the safety norms by partying in public ahead of Rockets’ season opener against Oklahoma City Thunder.
NBA’s safety guidelines strictly state that a player should not be seen in the public for any sort of an event. However, the 30-year-old was spotted in a strip club’s Christmas party in Houston.
Footage of Harden attending and enjoying himself have been posted on social media platforms. The point guard is seen without a mask in a sea of people in the club.
The franchise are yet to comment on any possible action to be inflicted upon the player or the availability of the player for their first game of the season.
Charles Barkley wants ‘foolish’ Rockets to trade Harden ASAP
Following the end of the last season, James Harden and Russel Westbrook reportedly voiced their wish to leave the franchise. While Westbrook was granted his wish with a trade to Washington Wizards, Harden is still hanging on.
The former MVP missed the majority of Rockets’ pre-season after opting to party with a rapper on the occasion of his birthday. He was seen horribly out of shape during the team’s pre-season match. As a result of all the shenanigans, former player Charles Barkley wants the Rockets to get rid of the ‘headache’ with a trade.
“That’s why I don’t understand what them fools at the Rockets are doing,” Barkley said. “Give me Allen, LaVert and Dinwiddie, you got a deal.”
“They’ll be rid of the headache. So I think they should make the trade. If you put those three players with John Wall … the Rockets are just going to be dissension behavior … it’s proven they’re dysfunctional. A man is going to show up when he wants, play when he wants to, practice when he wants to. So I would do the trade.” Barkley said
While Harden has set his eyes on Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelhia 76ers and the Miami Heat as a possible destination, Denver Nuggets are also spicing up their interest in the player.
However, the franchise are not open to a trade deal involving their player Jamal Murray and has branded him as “off-limits”.
