The possibility of a fight between Jaime Munguía and David Benavidez seems to be gaining more strength after boxing promoter Óscar De la Hoya confirmed that Munguía has shown interest in the fight.
The team of both boxers has expressed interest in a fight, especially Munguía who is fresh off his unanimous decision win over Sergiy Derevyanchenko on 10th June, which also marked his debut at super middleweight.
Golden Boy Promotions chief Óscar De la Hoya revealed that his fighter Munguía is interested in facing Benavidez, and they hope to start negotiations for the fight in the coming days.

Munguía (42-0, 33 KOs) was the WBO Super Welterweight world champion from 2018 to 2019, followed by holding the WBO Inter-Continental title at Middleweight from 2020 to 2022, before making his 168-pound debut in June.
For his part, Benavidez (27-0, 23 KOs) defended his WBC interim Super Middleweight title against Caleb Plant back in May this year, earning the mandatory spot for the WBC belt of Canelo Alvarez.
