Through a story posted on his Instagram account, Canelo revealed that he is working with his brother Ricardo Álvarez to open an “El Pastor del Rica” franchise in Chula Vista, California, United States. Although, he did not give details of when the branch will be ready.
On top of that, the sibling who is most involved in the taco shop is Ricardo, since he also controls all the operations that are carried out in ‘El Pastor del Rica’ in Guadalajara, the main headquarters of his project that has been going on for some years. In addition to the pastor tacos, which are their main selling point, they also sell tripe, carnaza, lip, tongue, chorizo, suadero, bistek, campechanos, gringas and quesadillas tacos.
Last year, after beating Gennadiy Golovkin via unanimous decision back on 17th September, Canelo launched ‘VMC’- a ‘Ready To Eat’ drink which are nothing more than drinks prepared with tequila.
VMC is an acronym for “Viva México Cabrones”, an expression that is in keeping with the Mexicanness that the four-belt champion at 168 exudes, and the tricolor is also presented through the presentations of the three different beverages.
