Renowned American supermodel Gigi Hadid has decided to stand in solidarity with Ukraine as well as Palestine and has announced that she will donate all of her earnings from the fashion months to aid the Ukrainian and Palestinian refugees.

In the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing war between the two neighboring countries, several celebrities have taken a stance to help aid the Ukrainian Military as well as the people of Ukraine, who have been fleeing their homeland and seeking refuge in other countries.
Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who is of Ukrainian descent, recently donated $10 million to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, the latter who was born in Soviet Ukraine, have started a GoFundMe campaign with a target of $30 million to aid Flexport and Airbnb in providing supplies and shelters to refugees stuck in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Moldova.
And now, having been inspired by fellow model Mica Argañaraz, who announced last month that she would be pledging part of her earnings from fashion months to help the people of Ukraine, Gigi Hadid has decided to take the same step, while also continuing the support to Palestinians.
“Having a set Fashion Month schedule has meant that my colleagues and I often present new fashion collections during heartbreaking and traumatic times in history. We don’t have control over most of our work schedules, but we would like to walk ‘for’ something,” Gigi, who is of Palestinian-Dutch descent, posted on Instagram.
“Following in the footsteps of my friend @micarganaraz, I am pledging to donate my earnings from the Fall 2022 shows to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine. Our eyes and hearts must be open to all human injustice. May we all see each other as brothers and sisters, beyond politics, beyond race, beyond religion. At the the end of the day, innocent lives pay for war- not leaders.”
