After losing to the Houston Rockets in January of last year, Giannis Antetokounmpo took to social media to vent about his team’s faults. The irked Milwaukee Bucks forward felt compelled to confront the equipment crew, besides criticizing his colleagues. In particular, his comments to the equipment staff to wash the team’s gear more thoroughly raised some eyebrows.
The two-time NBA MVP’s recent clip on X showed that he is acknowledging what he had said in the past and mocking his comments. “You know, 2 months ago, 3 months ago I said everybody got to do a better job even the equipment manager got to do a better job I got to take it back they’ve been unbelievable the last 3 months and even though I said I have to do a better job I got to take it back. They’ve been unbelievable the last 3 months.”
Furthermore, in a humorous tone and body language he adds, “Even though I said they have to do a better job jokingly, now they’ve got to go back to the teams and their organisation and ask for a raise because they’re doing too much. They have to get paid more.”

This video is regarding the previous comments he made after the defeat in November 2023. In the locker room, Giannis gave a passionate speech, expressing his dissatisfaction with the team’s overall performance. He highlighted obligation and development, saying “Everybody’s got to do a better job… even the equipment manager’s gotta do a better job,” which went viral and caused some controversies.
The comments on the recent video posted seem like the audience is enjoying and resonating with his mockery.
