The European giant Germany will go up against Hungary at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday in the group stage of EURO 2020.
Germany:
Germany had kickstarted their EURO 2020 campaign on a low as an own goal from veteran defender, Mats Hummels had cost them three points against the European powerhouse, France. However, they fired back with an emphatic 4-2 win over Fernando Santos’ Portugal on Saturday.
First-half own goals from Manchester City centre-back Ruben Dias and Borussia Dortmund left-back Raphael Guerreiro had given Germany the lead, while they capitalized in second-half as Chelsea forward Kai Havertz and Atalanta left-back Robin Gosens sealed the game for Joachim Low’s Germany.
Though Juventus talisman Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota scored the goals for Portugal, it turned out to be consolation.
Germany are currently positioned in the second place in EURO 2020 table with three points in the bag and a win would mean they will top the group, bringing the current table toppers France down.
Hungary:
Hungary, on the other hand had started their EURO 2020 journey with a disappointing 3-0 loss against Portugal. In their second outing of the group stage, they restricted Didier Deschamps’ France in a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
Attila Fiola surprisingly scored a late goal in the first half for Hungary but it was Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann who made the equalizing goal for the Frenchmen.

Germany is high on confidence with their recent 4-2 win against Portugal and would certainly try to execute the same against Hungary. A dominance with the offense is expected from the side however, the defense remains as a concern. But, they will give their all to ensure the three points.
On the other side the Hungarian men have given some trouble to the huge European Nations and they will aim for the same against Germany as well.
They have shown good spirit against Portugal but the result was not in their favour, while against France, they were able to avoid a loss and salvaged a point.
They will be the underdogs against Germany and there is no way they can be waived off from the game. However, Germany with the star studded side should be able to pick up the win in a possible narrow scoreline of 2-1.
