Ebanie Bridges, the reigning IBF Female Bantamweight champion has taken shots at her longtime rival Shannon Courtenay over her upcoming appearance on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, a stint which Bridges herself performed earlier on the Australian version of the show.

I hope it changed her a little and she grows as a person: Ebanie Bridges rails at her rival

It all started after Courtenay was announced to be a part of the hit Channel4 show Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which airs on 4th September Sunday.

“People only know me in the ring, they don’t know what I’m really like as a person, so I wanted to show the real me, the vulnerable side to me. If any show is going to break you down like that, it’s SAS: Who Dares Wins!” Courtenay said after the announcement. [H/T hertfordshiremercury.co.uk]

Bridges, who has engaged in multiple verbal altercations with Courtenay since their clash from last year, had been a contestant on SAS Australia earlier this year, and lashed out at Courtenay while replying to a fan on Twitter regarding the news.

Twitter user BoxingbodegaA wrote, “I see Courtenay is copy/pasting Ebanie Bridges again…”

To which, the ‘Bronze Bomber’ responded, “I hope it changed her a little and she grows as a person tbh.”

Courtenay remains the only pugilist to get the better of Bridges in the latter’s professional career. The two locked horns back on 10th April last year for the vacant WBA Female Bantamweight title.

The 10-round bout, which took place at the Copper Box Arena in London, saw Courtenay emerging victorious with a unanimous decision win over the Aussie, aside from giving Bridges a swollen eye.

Unfortunately, the Briton’s title reign remained short-lived, as six months later ‘The Baby Face Assassin’ was stripped off of her WBA belt after failing to make weight against Jamie Mitchell on 9th October, and Courtenay even lost the bout via majority decision as well.

Bridges, on the other hand, redeemed her maiden career setback with making two back to back winning finishes against Bec Connolly and Mailys Gangloff in the same year, before marking her third victory in a row against María Cecilia Román back in March this year to clinch the IBF title. Last month, it was revealed that Bridges has been a sparring partner of OnlyFans model-turned-boxer Elle Brooke.
