In a fiery exchange off the track at the Canadian Grand Prix, Daniel Ricciardo delivered a dismissive yet hilarious response to former F1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve. The Australian driver’s wit and confidence were on full display after qualifying fifth at the Montreal circuit.
Daniel responds to Villeneuve: “I won’t give him the time of day. Top 5, I’ve been quick all weekend. Less than two tenths from pole.
So, eat shit.”#CanadianGP pic.twitter.com/KoAa97KaBh

Villeneuve, known for his candid opinions, had harshly criticized Ricciardo’s career during the race weekend. He suggested that Ricciardo’s “image” rather than his on-track performances kept him in Formula 1. The former champion even compared Ricciardo unfavorably to multiple-time champion Lewis Hamilton.
"It's his image that has kept him in F1"
Villeneuve didn't mince his words when talking about Daniel Riccardo

When asked about Villeneuve’s comments, Ricciardo didn’t hold back. With a smile, he quipped, “So I still don’t know what he said, but I heard he’s been talking sh*t. But he always does. I think he’s hit his head a few too many times — I don’t know if he plays ice hockey or something. Won’t give him the time of day, but all those people could suck it. I want to say more, but it’s alright. We’ll leave him behind,” Ricciardo said, muttering muted curse words into the microphone with a smile.
Yuki Tsunoda Secures Red Bull Contract Extension as Daniel Ricciardo Faces Uncertainty
Red Bull Racing has confirmed that Yuki Tsunoda will remain with their junior team for the 2025 Formula 1 season. The Japanese driver’s contract extension marks a significant milestone in his career, while Daniel Ricciardo’s future hangs in the balance.
Red Bull exercised the option to extend Tsunoda’s contract, ensuring he will compete with the Racing Bulls for a fifth consecutive campaign. The 24-year-old has impressed throughout the 2024 season, accumulating 19 points and consistently outperforming his teammate.
Daniel Ricciardo, currently racing for Red Bull’s ‘B team,’ faces uncertainty regarding his F1 future. Struggling for form, the Australian driver has yet to secure a seat for the upcoming seasons. His hopes of remaining on the grid took another hit with Tsunoda’s contract extension.
Why Tsunoda?
Tsunoda’s natural speed, maturity, and consistent performance caught the team’s attention. Despite missing out on a senior Red Bull seat when Sergio Perez’s contract was extended, Tsunoda remains committed to the Red Bull family. His involvement in the team’s development project further solidifies his position.
