WWE star Daniel Bryan recently joined Michael Morales Torres of Lucha Libre Online for an interview. He went on to speak about NXT and discussed how it differs performing in NXT and main rosters- Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown. He also discussed the perks of the main roster call-up.
Daniel Bryan states the benefits of performing on the main roster
Previously NXT was considered to be the developmental territory of WWE. But, with time as the gold and black brands produced plethora of talents, the quality of the wrestling performances has upscaled. It is almost the third brand of WWE and majority of the main roster brands, be it Raw or SmackDown are comprised of the stars of NXT, who were called up to the main roster.
Now, Daniel Bryan shared his thoughts on NXT and revealed the benefits that the stars receive in the main roster. He said that the stars in the main roster are get paid better which helps them secure the future of their families. He also addressed NXT as “different” from both red and blue brand.
He said: “The benefits to coming to the main roster I think our exposure worldwide and you get paid better for your family, your future and all that kind of stuff. So there’s positives to coming up to the main roster that benefits the talent. But I think one of the cool things about NXT is that it’s different. It’s different from Raw. It’s different from SmackDown.”
Daniel Bryan states why talents not leaving NXT for main roster
The former WWE Champion noted that several WWE talents decide to stay in WWE’s so-called ‘developmental territory’. He said that the stars are are finding it better to stay in the Black and Gold brand and they are eyeing to become the next ‘Mr. NXT’. He also lauded stars like Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa.
He said: “The other interesting thing is that they’ve made it so that like you can have a great career and never come to the main roster. If you’re a Johnny Gargano or a Tommaso Ciampa and you just want to stay in NXT and if you want to be Mr. NXT and that sort of thing you can do that.”
Daniel Bryan is set to enter the Men’s WWE Royal Rumble Match at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view on Sunday, January 31.
