CM Punk Return: Booker T Doesn’t Rule Out Possibility of A WWE Comeback

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T is seemingly not ruling out the heavily-speculated return of former AEW star CM Punk.

Back in 2005, CM Punk joined WWE and had been a part of the company for nine years, winning various titles including the World Heavyweight Title, the ECW Championship, and the WWE Championship. But in 2014, he was freed from his contract after leaving before a Monday Night RAW episode.

After leaving WWE, CM Punk retired. However, he entered the ring again in 2021 to join AEW. In September, after an argument backstage at AEW All In: London, Punk was let go from AEW. Reports have surfaced indicating that Punk is in negotiations with WWE as well, and it’s difficult to miss Punk references on WWE programmes.

During the latest episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T addressed CM Punk’s possible return to the Stamford-based company. He claimed The Best in The World’s comeback should not be ruled out.

“The thing is also, I’m gonna go out on a limb here, I’m not gonna put it past WWE hiring him back. I don’t know. I can’t say. But I do know that just about everybody that’s left WWE has come back no matter what problems they’ve had. Even, you know, The Ultimate Warrior, which I don’t think anybody thought The Ultimate Warrior would come back because he was more hated than Ahmed Johnson [laughs]. The only person who didn’t come back Ahmed Johnson because he’s a lowdown, notorious, lying, piece of you know what,” he said.
