Chip Kelly is about to make a potential comeback into the NFL according to some sources but to materialize that dream he has to take a pay cut from his 6 million dollar annual salary.
Mike Macdonald has already started to put together his team of staff members after becoming the new head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. Till now the Seahawks have hired Leslie Frazier as their new assistant manager, Jay Harbaugh as their new special team coordinator, and Kirk Olivadotti as linebackers coach.
The only position left with a vacancy in the team is the position of the offensive coordinator. Macdonald has to act fast in getting the OC of his choice as the 8 new head coaches in the NFL are also in pursuit of quality staff members for the 2024 season.
Sources: Oregon HC Chip Kelly is interviewing with the Seattle Seahawks for their offensive coordinator job tonight.
Chip has garnered a ton of NFL interest, and the Seahawks have had rumored interest in his offense for much of this cycle.

Who are in race alongside Chip Kelly to become the new OC of the Seahawks?
Till now few names have been reported, who can succeed Shane Waldron and Clint Hurtt as Seattle’s next coordinators. Many names had popped up after the hunt for a new OC began.
Alabama’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, Giant’s Offensive Coordinator Mike Kafka, and Detroit Lions assistant Tanner Engstrand were some candidates Seattle Seahawks were interested in. Chip Kelly has been recently mentioned as a possible candidate for the vacant position but he signed a contract extension with the UCLA Bruins last year that takes him through to the 2027 season.
He would surely have to take a pay cut from his $6 million dollar annual salary at UCLA to take a coordinator position in the NFL. Chip Kelly’s interest in joining the Seattle Seahawks is evident and it seems like a matter of days before he leaves college football to join the NFL side.
UCLA finished 8–5 overall last season and tied for sixth place in the Pac-12 with a 4–5 record in the conference but this season the scenario is different as the UCLA Bruins are moving to the Big Ten and will face much tougher opponents. Seahawks fans are still waiting for their side to announce their new Offensive Coordinator and only time will tell if Chip Kelly’s intention to leave College football and return to the NFL will materialize.
