Charles Leclerc’s recent race engineer change at Ferrari has caused quite a stir. The decision to replace his long-time race engineer, Xavi Marcos, was made by the team itself, and Leclerc clarified that he did not initiate the reshuffle. Instead, Bryan Bozzi, who has been Leclerc’s performance engineer since his arrival at Ferrari, will now take on the role of race engineer.
Despite their history of public clashes via team radio, Leclerc emphasized that communication with Marcos was not a problem. He believes that the transition to working with Bozzi will be smooth, given their existing working relationship. Leclerc’s focus remains on maximizing performance and extracting the absolute potential from the car.
Charles Leclerc said, “And when you put everything together, so if you look only at one detail, you’re like, okay, why take the risk?
“But then when everybody takes this risk, you add everything up and it makes a big difference. And this is definitely the approach that we need to take if we want to go and beat Red Bull, because at the moment they are extremely strong.
He continued, “It’s not like I’m starting from zero and that it’s going to be a complete adaptation. It’s been super smooth until now and I’m sure that it will continue that way. That will be at our 100% already from this weekend. That’s all I can say.”
Charles Leclerc’s Verdict on Ferrari’s Imola Upgrades
Charles Leclerc, the talented Ferrari driver, is cautiously optimistic about the upgrades that the team has introduced for the Imola race. As Red Bull also brings new parts to the track, the competition is heating up. Leclerc acknowledges that McLaren made significant progress with their upgrade in Miami, where Lando Norris secured his first victory. Now, all eyes are on Ferrari’s response.
“The target overall, obviously, the upgrades are done in a way that they’ve been projected and thought about quite a long time ago,” Leclerc said. “It’s not like we could react to the first weaknesses of the car. However, it’s just to make it a much better car all around. That was the main target.”
