CANDICE LERAE AND INDI HARTWELL FACED EMBER MOON AND SHOTZI BLACKHEART IN THE MAIN EVENT

In the main event of the latest episode of the black and gold brand, The Way (LeRae and Hartwell) faced the Champions: Shotzi Blackheart and former NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon. The stipulation of the match suggested a street fight, and it indicated chaos. The match sure was chaotic, as all four women put their bodies in danger to keep or gain hold of the Championships.

Amongst the weapons used were chairs, trash cans, a fire extinguisher, and a coffee mug. The daredevil herself, Shotzi Blackheart, managed to up the ante by climbing the ringside scaffold and destroying Indi Hartwell and the announce table she was placed upon with a devastating splash.

However, the high-risk attempt by Blackheart was not enough for her and Moon to retain their Championships. Hartwell managed to attack Ember Moon with some of her own high-risk action, sending her through a table with an elbow drop. LeRae managed to hit Blackheart with a Wicked Stepsister on a steel chair to gain the victory and the Championships for the tag team.

THE DUO BECAME THE THIRD NXT WOMEN’S TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS

With this, the duo became the third tag team to hold the relatively recent Championships. The championship was established on the March 10, 2021 episode of NXT, when Dakota Kai and Raquel González were crowned the inaugural champions due to winning the first-ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, after the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match they had originally received for their win ended in a controversial finish.

While this is a huge moment for both NXT talents, especially for Hartwell, it also makes sure that The Way stands as one of the most dominant factions or teams in NXT at the moment. With the female duo being NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships and Johnny Gargano holding the NXT North American Championship, three out of four members of the faction are now champions in the Black and Gold brand.
