A sack was attempted on Cam Newton, but this time off the field.
“You about to be poor” says young heckler, “I’m rich” Cam Newton hits back
At a football camp hosted by the New England Patriots quarterback himself, a young football player at the NFA 7v7 East Regional, held this weekend at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, got into a verbal clash with Cam Newton, attacking Newton regarding his free agency and also telling the QB “you about to be poor.”
The three time Pro Bowler, did not have much to say, except pointing out to the young heckler “I’m rich” several times, while also asking him “Where’s your daddy at? Let me talk to your dad”, while the unnamed teenager continued the free agent talk.
The short clip of the argument between Newton and the teenager was shared on TikTok by @thesportsuniverse, which soon went viral on Twitter as well, including Miami Dolphins defensive backs coach and former safety Gerald Alexander who had a funny retweet of the video.
“Young boy wanted some giggles from the homies and likes online instead of asking for OG advice on how to get to THE SHOW!” Alexander tweeted.

SportsCenter shared another clip, which highly seems to be after the initial heckling done by the teenager. In the second video, the young player was seen having a conversation with Newton.
“Talking to a child with everybody looking does me no good,” Newton wrote in a post afterward, “so instead of speaking or going back and forth with a child I wanted to have a man to man conversation with his father.”
While Cam Newton may be proud of his net worth, according to an early January report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the former Carolina Panthers player is likely to be traded away from the six-time Super Bowl winners after just one season, in which the Patriots had one of their worst performances ever, finishing with seven wins and nine losses.
