Record-breaking Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark has officially entered the 2024 WNBA Draft. One of the best players on the University of Iowa women’s basketball team, Caitlin Clark, announced on Thursday that she will skip her final year of collegiate eligibility to pursue the WNBA Draft. Even though the Indiana Fever would likely select her as the number one pick as a result of this choice, Clark took the opportunity to thank everyone who had helped her.

Caitlin Clark makes the announcement

In a social media statement on Thursday, she stated, “This season is far from over and we have a lot more goals to achieve.” Further, she stated, “It is impossible to fully express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me during my time at Iowa. My teammates have made the last four years the best; my coaches, trainers, and staff have always allowed me to be myself.”

Caitlin Clark is grateful for more than just the Hawkeyes programme. She acknowledges the steadfast backing of the whole Hawkeye community as well as the supporters who have encouraged her along the way, “Hawkeye supporters who packed Carver every night; and everyone who showed up to show their support across the nation, particularly the young children.”

Her experience serves to highlight this grateful mindset even more. From setting many records to scoring 27 points in her collegiate debut, Clark has guided the Hawkeyes to unheard-of success. Her path has been characterised by unshakable perseverance and determination. But without the people who have supported her along the way, believed in her, and assisted her in realising her aspirations, her journey would not be complete.

While everyone is buzzing about Clark’s forthcoming draft and her professional aspirations, she wants to send a thank-you note to let everyone know just how much of an impact her support network has had on her amazing journey. Caitlin has made it possible for her to be chosen by the Indiana Fever with the first overall pick in the April draft.
