Freddie Kraft, the spotter for NASCAR Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace, recently shared his take on the idea of Bowman Gray Stadium potentially becoming a fixture on the NASCAR schedule. The historical venue was acquired by NASCAR earlier in March this year.
During a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Kraft expressed his thoughts on the iconic Bowman Gray Stadium, a track that has a rich history and a passionate fan base. However, Kraft believes that the track has only 17,000 people’s capacity and that NASCAR can’t hold the Cup race there.
“The issue there is that it doesn’t hold many people. Let’s have the championship race there, f**k it. But I’m joking, obviously,” Freddie Kraft said.

“It’s hard to imagine having a race there when it only holds 17,000 people, so it’s hard to see us having a Cup race there with that small of a crowd, but maybe that’s just a high market ticket then. Like we saw last year, you go to North Wilkesboro the first year and it sells out immediately,” he added.
Bubba Wallace’s wife helps him deal with frustration after the last few races
Bubba Wallace, the talented NASCAR Cup Series driver, faces immense pressure and challenges on the track. Amidst the highs and lows of racing, his wife, Amanda, plays a crucial role in keeping him grounded and motivated.
Bubba Wallace’s recent struggles—races at Talladega and Dover ending prematurely—weighed heavily on him. However, Amanda’s gift reminded him that dwelling on past disappointments wouldn’t change anything. Instead, he needed to embrace each new day as an opportunity for improvement. Bubba took her message to heart, ready to tackle the next race with renewed determination.
After a disappointing race weekend, Bubba returned home from Dover feeling frustrated. But Amanda had a surprise waiting for him—a simple yet powerful gift: a candle warmer. Now, Bubba isn’t typically a candle-warmer person, but Amanda’s choice had a special message. The warmer bore the words, “It’s a new day.” Those four words became a mantra for Bubba as he faced the challenges ahead.
