Former NXT Champion Bron Breakker recently stated that he prefers portraying a heel persona than a babyface.
NXT standout Bron Breakker is one of the fastest-rising superstars in recent NXT history. He joined the WWE on a developmental contract in February 2021. In just over two years, he is the second-longest-reigning NXT Champion in history. His in-ring ability, microphonic skills, and overall personality have been exquisite which has helped him cement his place on the white and gold brand.
Bron Breakker has shown off a more aggressive side since losing his NXT Championship to Carmelo Hayes at NXT Stand & Deliver. He’s gone after competitors outside of the ring and set his sights on Seth Rollins and the WWE World Heavyweight Title.
Bron Breakker is more comfortable with the heel persona
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Breakker was asked about his new persona. He said that being heel comes naturally to him. He believes it fits him better. Here is what he said:
“I think this is just more natural for me, to be honest with you. It just fits me a whole lot better. I don’t have to be a character or get into character. This is more natural and who I am. I’m having a lot of fun,” he said. “When I was the NXT Champion, towards the end of the long run that I had, people started to turn on me and change their tune when I came out. It’s tough. I felt reserved, like I’m holding this back. I can’t really describe it. Finally, I was like, ‘screw it. I’m done caring what these people think of me, whether they like me, whether they don’t, I’m going to do whatever I want and that’s it.'”
Breakker is set to challenge Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Title on the June 20 episode of NXT Gold Rush.
