American singer and dancer Britney Spears is confronting backlash after presumable body shaming the dancers of Christina Aguilera.

From the time of getting released from conservatorship following long 13 years, Britney Spears has been using her Instagram account more actively. She is utilizing the platform speaking out about her mental health, family members, relationships and updating her followers on her freedom she got recently.

On her Instagram this Monday, Spears posted a quote that said, “I found there was only one way to look thin: hang out with fat people,” prior to a further taunt towards the Genie in a Bottle singer.

I wish I could have chosen the nannies for my children … my dancers … I mean if I had Christina Aguilera’s dancers I would have looked extremely small 💃💃💃… I mean why not talk about it ??” the 40-year-old wrote in the caption.

At the time of her almost 14-year legal arrangement established by her alienated father, Jamie Spears, the singer performed a four-year Las Vegas residency and launched various world tours. She has accused in 2018 that she toured against her will.

At the same time, the 41-year-old Aguilera went on multiple tours during Britney’s Sin City run and subsequently surmised a residency at Planet Hollywood when her longtime challenger in pop left.

The huge disappointment was expressed by the fans as Britney compared the physiques of her dancers to those of Aguilera and accused her of body shaming.

A person wrote, “Britney… body shaming is out,” which was echoed by several other similar sentiments.

“Oh honey, delete this while you have time,” urged another follower.

Further, someone else called Britney “so wrong” for the post, elaborating, “There is so much more to life than looking thin.”

“This is so f—king offensive Britney,” added another person.

Anyhow in a since-deleted voice memo, Britney said that she does not mind offending others as she has felt “offended” her whole life and yet looks unbothered by any kind of criticism. The ‘Toxic’ singer added “offended 🤷🏼‍♀️??” Don’t watch me 😝 !!!”

Britney came to an end to her message on Monday by saying, “It’s hard sometimes now I see how much of my womanhood was stripped away at that time and every person sat back and didn’t say a thing !!! Anyways … I will be here talking bout things people NEVER talked about 🙄🙄🙄 !!!”

Previously in an Instagram post of March Britney deplored over being the “heavy girl”, saying it “wasn’t fun” and rather “humiliating”.

Though this is not the first time Britney has mentioned Aguilera in social media. The singer dragged her former “All New Mickey Mouse Club” co-star for remaining silent on the struggles of her conservatorship in November 2021.

“I love and adore everyone who supported me … but refusing to speak when you know the truth, is equivalent to a lie!!!” wrote Britney over a clip of Aguilera’s red carpet rebuff at the 2021 Latin Grammy Awards.

She continued: “13 years being in a corrupt abusive system yet why is such a hard topic for people to talk about??? I’m the one who went through it!!! All the supporters who spoke up and supported me thank you … Yes I do matter!”

Reporters asked Aguilera at the awards show if she “had any communication” with Britney in the days following the end of her conservatorship.

Brett Ruttenberg, publicist of Aguilera, who accompanied her to the event, very fast obstructed  with, “No, I’m sorry, we’re not doing that tonight, thank you though, bye!”

“I can’t,” then Aguilera said as she walked away, adding, “But I’m happy for her!”

Two months later in January, when Britney’s conservatorship eventually concluded, a public support was shared for the “Crossroads” actress by Aguilera .

While promoting her Spanish EP, “La Fuerza” Aguilera told media personality Enrique Santos, “I will just say what I do feel comfortable saying, as I’ve said before actually and stated: that I couldn’t be happier for her.”

“Every woman deserves to feel empowered and to own that for themselves however they see fit.”
