Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin’s 23XI Racing team has been making waves on the NASCAR circuit, with drivers Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace behind the wheel. Impressively, both drivers qualified for the playoffs last year, adding to the team’s growing success.

In motorsport, the role of sponsors cannot be overstated. Bubba Wallace, a prominent NASCAR driver, has proudly represented major brands such as DoorDash, Columbia Sportswear Co., Beats by Dr. Dre, and McDonald’s. However, recently, one of these sponsors has decided to part ways with the team.

Bubba Wallace and 23XI Racing lost the big-name ended the deal

Adam Stern’s recent post on X unveiled significant news regarding one of the primary sponsors for Michael Jordan’s NASCAR team. DoorDash, boasting a net worth of $55.45 billion as of March 25, 2024, has made the decision to exit the sport, terminating its sponsorship not only with NASCAR but also with 23XI Racing.

The partnership between Bubba Wallace and DoorDash marked the start of a promising collaboration between the talented driver and the delivery giant. Initially racing with No. 43 at Richard Petty Motorsports, Wallace transitioned to 23XI Racing. As the racing season unfolds, fans eagerly anticipate Wallace’s journey with his new team and the repercussions of losing a major sponsor like DoorDash.

While the 2024 season has proven challenging for Wallace, currently sitting in 18th place in the standings, his past achievements serve as a beacon of hope for both the team and its fans.

Bubba Wallace’s Journey with Michael Jordan Owned team

Since joining 23XI Racing in 2021, Bubba Wallace has left an indelible mark on the NASCAR Cup Series. In its maiden season, 23XI Racing introduced Bubba Wallace as its first driver, piloting the No. 23 Toyota Camry.

Wallace wasted no time making headlines. At the Talladega Superspeedway, he clinched his first career Cup Series win, albeit in a rain-shortened race. The victory was historic: Wallace became the first Black driver to win a Cup Series race since Wendell Scott in 1963. The McDonald ’s-sponsored car crossed the finish line, marking a triumphant moment for both Wallace and the team.

However, consistency proved elusive. Week to week, Wallace faced a rollercoaster of results. He showcased flashes of brilliance, including a runner-up finish at the Daytona 500, where he narrowly missed victory by a mere 0.036 seconds. Yet, the team grappled with finding a rhythm, battling for top positions while navigating setbacks.
