UFC Middleweight Champion Alex Pereira has sent Canadian rapper and music icon Drake a warning ahead of his upcoming rematch with Israel Adesanya.

In November at UFC 281, Alex Pereira shocked the world by inflicting a 5th round TKO on Israel Adesanya. Courtesy of this victory, the Brazilian grabbed the middleweight gold, and marked a third victory against “The Last Stylebender”. The two men had already faced each other twice in kickboxing, both fights having been won by “Poatan”.

At UFC 287 on 8th April, the two longtime rivals will be locking horns once again in Miami, Florida. On one hand, many observers believe that Adesanya will finally take his revenge against his nemesis. On the other hand, many believe that the power of Pereira will once again make the difference.

In the meantime, Poatan has thrown a banterful warning towards Drake, after he had lost more than $1 million betting on Adesanya at UFC 281, and the “Drake curse” has become a meme on social networks. The rapper very often bets on the wrong fighter.

Pereira thinks the Canadian should consider his options more carefully this time around, and in a recent post on Instagram, he conveyed the same message to Drake: @champagnepapi – Hope you bet on the right person this time around.”

In just four fights in the Octagon, Pereira has already soared to the top of the 185-pound division and from thereon, the Brazilian’s focus lies on keep the title for as long as possible. Adesanya, meanwhile, has his chance of redemption and one more opportunity to finally solve the Pereira riddle.
