CM Punk has been absent from AEW since he made controversial remarks at the AEW All Out 2022 post-show media scrum and was involved in a alleged brawl with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.
The former 2-time AEW World Champion is set to make his long-awaited return on the premiere episode of AEW Collision on June 17, and the wrestling world continues to buzz about his issues with The Elite.
Samoa Joe comments on the feud between CM Punk & The Elite
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Joe was asked to share his thoughts on the feud between Punk and The Elite and whether it stemmed from a generational gap.
“This isn’t a divide, it’s an argument between men,” Joe said. “All those dudes don’t represent the entire genre of their generation. They have their own issues and their own problems. I don’t think it’s that deep. They’re grown-ass men. They have disagreements, they can figure it out or not. That’s between them.”
After CM Punk’s return was rumored, AEW President Tony Khan officially announced that Punk will be making his return at AEW Collision premiere on June 17. It is set to be held at Chicago’s famous United Center, where Punk made his return to pro wrestling a couple of years back. At the Collision premiere, ‘The Second City Saviour’ will team up with longtime friends FTR to take on the team of Jay White, Juice Robinson, and Samoa Joe.
