NBA Week 9 Feb 21 results: Scores, standings, match summary and highlights

The seventh matchday of Week 9 of the 2020-21 NBA season has concluded and it’s time to take a look back at the scores and highlights of the matches and standings of the teams.

Pelicans 120 – 115 Celtics

New Orleans Pelicans marked the largest comeback in NBA history, from a 24-point turnaround to taking the Boston Celtics into OT and thrashing them at the Smoothie King Center.

Brandon Ingram led the hosts with 33 points, while Zion Williamson and Josh Hart both finished with a double double each.

Raptors 110 – 103 76ers

Toronto Raptors cruised to their fourth straight victory with a comfortable win over Philadelphia 76ers at the Amalie Arena.

Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet both clocked 23 points each, negating Joel Embiid’s double-double.

Cavaliers 101 – 117 Thunder

Oklahoma City Thunder paddled to a victory over Cleveland Cavaliers, handing the hosts their 10th consecutive loss at the Quicken Loans Arena.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander posted 31 points along with 9 assists, while Al Horford clocked 8 rebounds for 16 points.

Knicks 103 – 99 Timberwolves

A quick lead in the first quarter kept New York Knicks in the lead as Minnesota Timberwolves failed to catch up at the Madison Square Garden.

Julius Randle scored 25 along with 14 rebounds, along with RJ Barrett scoring 21. Timberwolves fired head coach Ryan Saunders.

Magic 105 – 96 Pistons

On the shoulders of Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier, Orlando Magic paddled to a win over Detroit Pistons at the Amway Center.

Vucevic shined with 37 points and 12 rebounds, while Fournier posted a score of 29 plus 7 rebounds and assists each.

Hawks 123 – 115 Nuggets

With three players clocking doubler-doubles, Atlanta Hawks rallied in the second and third quarters to trounce Denver Nuggets at the State Farm Arena.

Trae Young finishing with 35 points and 15 rebounds, while Clint Capela registered 10 rebounds for a score of 22 and John Collins scored 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Clippers 108 – 112 Nets

Brooklyn Nets had just the extra oomph to edge out Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center.

James Harden finished with 37 points and 11 rebounds, while Kyrie Irving scored 28 with 8 assists.

Bucks 128 – 115 Kings

The Giannis-Khris Middleton duo thrusted Milwaukee Bucks to a dominating victory over Sacramento Kings at the Fiserv Forum.

Giannis finished with a score of 38 added with 18 rebounds, while Khris clocked 32 points.
