The match is set to determine the undisputed ruler of the heavyweight division, either its the IBF, WBO, WBA, IBO champion Anthony Joshua, or the WBC titleholder Tyson Fury.

The road to this fight has been dramatic for both pugilists, but Joshua’s promoter and Matchroom Sport MD Eddie Hearn specifically highlights Fury, insisting that he never imagined Fury would reach this level.

Tyson Fury is undefeated in his professional boxing career. However, after the Briton shocked Wladimir Klitschko and the world in 2015 and won the unified championship, Fury took a three-year hiatus away from the squared circle, now taking the fight against depression and drug abuse.

The Gypsy King returned to don the sparring gloves in 2018 and has not looked back since then, ending up as the WBC heavyweight champion of the world after a dramatic rematch with Deontay Wilder last February.

Speaking to The Express, Eddie Hearn acknowledged the mountain Fury has climbed to be where he is, from defeating Klitschko to manhandling Wilder, proving the Matchroom MD wrong both times.

“I can’t lie to you. I didn’t think that Fury would get to this level,” said Hearn, “he’s completely proved me and everybody wrong. Nobody gave him a chance against Klitschko, he beat him. I thought he’d get knocked out by Wilder and beat him, twice, so he deserves massive credit.”

All that being said, Hearn still keeps AJ ahead of Fury.

“But I don’t think he beats Anthony Joshua. I think the way that it’s played out has been incredible. It’s not just the biggest fight in boxing, by the time it comes around it will be the biggest fight of all time,” the promoter added. (H/T BoxingScene)

While Hearn has the odds on AJ, Fury has proved in wrong two times before and its no wonder the highly anticipated undisputed heavyweight fight will reveal if Hearn’s words are indeed true or Fury proves him wrong for the third time.
