The 2024 season has been a special year for Rick Hendrick and his team with their 40th anniversary. In fact, they won their first race at Martinsville and yet again etched their names into the record-breaking finish at the same venue. The Hendrick Motorsports team had even more reason to celebrate, as they marked their 40th anniversary with a spectacular 1-2-3 finish. Byron led the charge, followed closely by teammates Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott.

William Byron’s car came to life after a cycle of green flag pit stops, and he held off Elliott’s efforts to secure the lead. The Hendrick cars dominated, leading 238 of the 415 laps, with Byron’s 88 laps at the front just edging out Larson’s 86 laps and Elliott’s 64 laps.
After the race Byron shared that he had a rough qualifying session yesterday as he had to start the race from P18. Byron revealed it was really hard to pass at Martinsville and it took stage 1 to take him the lead to make up his third victory of the season. However, William Byron accepted that he got to know about his car when he took the first 10 laps on the tack and he knew what the car is capable of and he thanked his team and Chevrolet for the great car.
William Byron Thanked Chase Elliott for not bumping him
William Byron and Chase Elliott were racing close to each other and there was a time when Chase Elliott bumped William Byronbut they somehow managed their lead and finished the race cleanly. After the race, Byron congratulated aCHase and appreciated his clean racing.
“I just want to thank Chase for racing me clean there,” said Byron, who led 88 laps but had to fend off one hard bump by Elliott off Turn 4 coming to the white flag. “He gave me a shot, which is to be expected, but we all finished it off.”
