American actor Will Smith is reportedly back in talks with Netflix over the divulged biopic just weeks after apologizing for slapping Chris Rock at The 2022 Oscars.
The 53-year-old Academy Award winner was in consultation with major streaming services over a film ensuing his life which was interrupted following the displeasing physical contention with the 57-year-old comedian as claimed.
“He was left out in the cold by Netflix and Apple+ in the wake of the slap. Since he has apologised and walked out of the limelight for a long period of time. With this in mind, it is broadly agreed enough time has passed to let the dust settle. It has been made clear discussions can be started again about a biopic that Netflix were interested in.y looking to reopen stalled negotiations,” sources revealed to The Sun.
“Arguably, the slap, and the fallout, are pivotal moments in Will’s life and will become part of the storyline of his life. Netflix wants to be part of those conversations and Will’s team has no doubt Apple will follow suit,” the developments further added.
Previously Smith was visible in public for the first time when he slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars this year. Rock has joked about Jada that she looked like ‘G.I’ Jane as she shaved her head. At that time the actress was suffering from alopecia.
Before picking up the award tearfully he tempted the stage by delivering the slap. The actor was given the best actor award for his role in ‘King Richard’, about the father of tennis icons Serena Williams and Venus Williams. He was said to have travelled to India for a spiritual retreat as he laid low for weeks in the wake of the slap.
Earlier the actor issued a statement following the film academy said it might take action against Smith for an incident that overshadowed the top awards of the industry. The actor revealed the former friend is not ready to forgive him yet he is always ready to talk whenever Chris wants to.
