Cam Newton a former Auburn star has picked Vince Young as the best college quarterback in the BCS or College Football Playoff era. According to the Texas Longhorns legend, Young is the best college quarterback to ever grace the pitch since the year 2000.

There are a lot of names that come to mind when talking about the best college quarterback, Tim Tebow, Matt Leinart, Tua Tagovialoa, Johnny Manziel, and others but for Cam Newton, Vince Young is the best among them.”No. 1 in my list is Vince Young,” Newton said. “The Rose Bowl. What he was able to do that game, no moment was ever too big for him.”
Vince Young is undoubtedly one of the best in what he does but some fans may argue that he lacks a certain Heisman trophy from his portfolio. However many fans still thinks that Young should have won the trophy over Reggie Bush.
Vince Young explains how hard the road to success was for him
Former NFL player and UT alumnus Vince Young was a part of the Black History Month event organized by Campus Events and Entertainment’s Distinguished Speakers and Culture Shock Committees. Young explained how different life was for a person of color.
“All these other people wanted me to play another position, and I fought every day,” Young said. “I wasn’t going to change my position because the world was telling me ‘no’. The bigger picture was opening up opportunities for that next young man that wants to play that position, and UT and Coach Brown gave me the opportunity.” Young said.
Young then opened up about the hard work he did as a Texas University student and the way he emerged successful despite facing numerous struggles.
“Don’t get distracted from the ultimate goal,” Young said. “You worked your butt off to get here, and to say that you graduated from the University of Texas is going to help you for the rest of your life. Our alumni are huge, and they’re everywhere. So make sure to finish and keep in contact with your professors and alumni.”
