WBC heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury is steadfast on his belief that he will finish unified champion Oleksandr Usyk within four rounds of their proposed undisputed title unification bout.

Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk, one of the most anticipated fights at present, has all the recipes to be the one of the biggest boxing events of all time. The bout will crown boxing’s first four belt undisputed champion, and there’s no doubt that Fury is highly motivated by that as the Briton recently un-retired to lock horns against his Ukrainian counterpart.

Many from the boxing community including Deontay Wilder have already asserted that the sheer size and reach advantage of ‘The Gypsy King’ will benefit him greatly against Usyk, and taking to social media, Fury himself stated in confidence that he will be done with the fight within four rounds.

“I’m sure I’ll smash him in four rounds, because the Gypsy King said so,” Fury recently said in a post on Instagram.

Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk to have 50-50 purse split, may take place on Super Bowl weekend

Last week, Fury gave Usyk and his team a seven day deadline, i.e,. until the 1st of September, to arrange the much anticipated undisputed championship clash. However, there are now conversations indicating that the fight may not be taking place this year altogether and a date in February 2023, most likely on the Super Bowl weekend, is when the clash may happen.

“It’s going to happen,” said Mark Kriegel of ESPN, who got in touch with Bob Arum. “How do I know this? What’s the source of contention in the lead-up to every big fight? The purse split. Is it 70-30, 60-40? This one is going to be 50-50. I spoke to Bob Arum today. He said that is a given. My other sources agree. So, we have one point of contention completely out of the way, or supposedly. That’s welcome news, proof to me the fight’s going to happen.” [H/T Express.co.uk]

Fury has also reached out to Frank Warren, asking the promoter to make the Usyk fight for £500 million.

“The world’s biggest fight has to be the world’s biggest money if I’m to put it all on the line vs some unknown foreigner,” he wrote in one Instagram story last week, “Boys, better get that half a billy. If not, keep that little mug.”

“If it was AJ, it would’ve been for free but it’s not,” he added.
