In WWE’s The Bump, Ziggler recalled their shared history.

“I see him backstage at RAW, and I was like, ‘Man, I remember seeing this guy, and I like seeing him around.’ I really enjoyed that he wanted to get rid of a lot of people in the locker room who were going three-quarters speed. He wanted everyone to go 100 percent. He goes, ‘We need to get rid of these hangers-on.’ I said, ‘I have a great idea: let’s make this happen,” Ziggler recounted.

“If I wanted to have someone have my back and get some things done around here, it was him. I’m very proud of him. No matter what I say,” he added.

Ziggler also spoke about his feud with Kofi Kingston during the later’s WWE Championship reign. During the rivalry, Ziggler and Kofi faced quite a few times, and Ziggler repeatedly declared that he, instead of Kingston, deserved the title.

“There were some feelings there, but not hard ones,” he stated towards Kofi Kingston winning the WWE Championship. “I’m a huge Kofi Kingston fan. I feel like I’m more of a fan because of the matches we had. We had so many matches back to back to back. I was so happy for him to get that moment [at Wrestlemania 35]. I was bummed that I missed watching him win it live.”

Edge believes that competition is always a good thing, as it forces the parties to step up their game and go to any length necessary to attract attention of the audience.

“I think competition in anything is always a good thing. I  think it forces people to up their game and not rest on their laurels. I think, if I’m looking at it from the performer’s aspect, it’s another place to be able to ply your trade, and that’s amazing. That’s never a bad thing. Just imagine if there was only one studio, if all there was was MGM,” Edge remarked.

“like the fact that there’s a bunch of different studios, and I think the same goes for wrestling. I think it ups everyone’s game. As a wrestling fan, that’s never a bad thing! To have, you know, a lot of different options. Now’s a great time to be a wrestling fan. It’s a really good time to be a performer, too. I look at it from the aspect of, I’m someone who always wants to be the best. I always want my character to stand out. That’s even more so if there’s more competition. Personally, I think it’s a good thing,” the multiple times World Champion added.

Edge remembered his younger years, when there were many Wrestling promotions to see.

“The era that I grew up, there was all kinds of different promotions. That was always fun and exciting, to go to the local variety store and pick up these wrestling magazines and see these wrestlers who I’d never seen before, but now I knew they were out there, because of these magazines. That, to me, was really fun. Then, when they’d eventually make it to the WWE, and I’d see them for the first time, I thought, ‘Oh, I kind of know this person! I know this character!’ I miss that. I think it’s changed, definitely. But the point being, I think competition is good,” The Rated-R Superstar recalled.

Lewis Hamilton wins his first race of the 2020 season

On the heels of a stunning pole position in heavy rain on Saturday, Lewis Hamilton finished the race with a time of 1:22:50.683. The six time world champion’s teammate and winner of Austrian GP Valtteri Bottas came second being 13.719 seconds behind, giving the Mercedes Team a solid one two victory, their first time in Austria in the last five years.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished the race third, clocking 33.698 seconds behind Hamilton, and his teammate Alexander Albon came fourth at +44.400.

Unfortunately, the race was a disaster for the Ferrari team, as Charles Leclerc collided with his teammate Sebastian Vettel at the third turn of the opening lap.

Below here is the full result of the Styrian GP, courtesy of the official Twitter handle of F1.

“It’s great to be back up here and thanks to the team,” Hamilton said after the race, “This feels like it has been a long time coming after a difficult weekend last time.”

With 25 clean points from yesterday’s race, the 35 year old is second on the championship standing with 37 points in total, 6 points behind his Finnish teammate Bottas at the top.

Following the race, Leclerc issued an apology to Vettel and his team for the collision.

“I am disappointed in myself. I’m sorry but being sorry is not enough. Seb hasn’t got any faults today. I’ve let the team down after them working a whole week to bring the updates early. Too eager to gain those places in the first lap. I will learn from it,” the 22 year old Monégasque tweeted yesterday.

Mercedes now leads the team standings with 80 points, a whopping 41 point ahead of both McLaren and Renault tied in second spot.

The third race of the current season will take place at the Hungarian Grand Prix in  in Mogyoród, Hungary on 19th July.

More than 3 points: Huge win for Man City as CAS overturns European ban

Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) overturned the two-year ban on Manchester City by the UEFA. The club is now officially eligible to compete in the next year’s Champions League.

More than 3 points: Huge win for Man City as CAS overturns European ban - THE SPORTS ROOM

Manchester City were handed the ban as a result of serious breaches of club licensing. UEFA’s club financial body also claimed in February that the club had breached the financial fair play regulations set in place.

After the verdict, the CAS has issued the club to pay a 10 million euro fine as a result of a violation of Article 56 of the Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations. The fine initially set by UEFA was 30 million euros, which was slashed to up to two-thirds by the CAS.

Here is what Manchester City had to comment after the announcement of the verdict.

“Whilst Manchester City and its legal advisors are yet to review the full ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the Club welcomes the implications of today’s ruling as a validation of the Club’s position and the body of evidence that it was able to present. The Club wishes to thank the panel members for their diligence and the due process that they administered,”

UEFA also released a statement after the verdict. The organization stated that the ruling went against their favour since the CAS found the evidence to be insufficient. UEFA concluded by stating that there would be no additional comments from their side regarding this matter.

Manchester City had declined any sort of allegations since February and after a series of presenting evidence to the CAS over the course of three days in June, the ruling has favoured them in the end.

Manager Pep Guardiola had claimed that he trusts the club’s management to deal with the situation and had even mentioned their optimism over getting the ban overturned.

“Today we achieved one incredible challenge, which is qualification for the Champions League mathematically,”

“That is the challenge that is the minimum requirement for this club. And these players have done it for the last six or seven years.

“We deserve to be there because we won it on the pitch. Hopefully on Monday UEFA can allow us to play like this team and these players deserve to.”

This win, miles away from the football field is arguably Manchester City’s greatest win. Their recent dominance would have been undone had this ruling gone against their favour with even their ace playmaker Kevin De Bruyne admitting he would consider his future if the ban would be in place.

The striker returned back to his homeland Norway for a holiday after the culmination of the Bundesliga season. Haaland appeared to have a good time with his family and friends, evident through his social media posts. However, he got into trouble after a visit to a nightclub.

In a video posted on Snapchat captioned ‘Go Home, Haaland’, the footballer who appears to be on a video call, is pushed away by a couple of security guards.

He is then seen shouting at the personnel and his accomplice intervenes to talk some sense into him and they both depart the scene. Check out the captured video right below:

The location of the incident is yet to be known and there has been no comment from Borussia Dortmund regarding the same.

The Norwegian had a sensational breakthrough season by scoring 44 goals across all competitions.

His sensational run of form with Salzburg saw a number of clubs swarm around for his services. After making the switch to Germany, Haaland’s goal-scoring form did not wane a bit.
