After more than two decades, the Los Angeles Rams have become the Super Bowl champions for the second time, following a 23-20 showdown against Cincinnati Bengals at the Super Bowl LVI which took place on 13th February at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, which is the home of the champions, the second time in Super Bowl history that the final took place at the home turf of one of the teams (following Super Bowl LV in Tampa last year).

Its the first time that the franchise has clinched the coveted won the Vince Lombardi Trophy since 1999 when they were based in St Louis and defeated Tennessee Titans 23-16 at Super Bowl XXXIV.
Matthew Stafford, on his first season with the Rams, completed 26 out of 40 passes and clocked 283 passing yards, throwing for three touchdowns along with two interceptions. Cooper Kupp received two of three passes from Stafford, in a total of 8 receptions for 92 yards, and was named the Super Bowl MVP.
The game had progressed into the fourth quarter without any certainty regarding the winner, but the last two minutes became the decider of the match. With 1:29 mintures remaining on the clock, Kupp’s crucial from Stafford gave the hosts the much needed three point lead to seal the deal.
“I’m just so proud of this team, it’s such a team victory. Our defense played outstanding, our special teams were big when we needed it, such a great game,” Stafford said after the win.
