Ahead of the Richmond race day, Bob Pockrass asked Kyle Busch about the pit road incident with Christopher Bell. Busch explained that he was aware Bell was behind him, but he believed there was enough distance between them. He was surprised to suddenly find Bell so close to him during the incident.

Then Pockrass posed a question about how he will run him on the race day. In response, Busch said, “Run him harder for a little bit until he concedes that he’s sorry on the race track and then get back to normal.”

Last week, at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA), there was an incident involving Kyle Busch and Christopher Bell. During the race, on-track contact led to a post-race confrontation between the two drivers. Bell’s move resulted in his car spinning Busch’s vehicle in the second stage of the race. After the event, they had a calmer conversation and even spoke via phone to come to an understanding. However, the matter hasn’t been fully resolved yet. Busch expressed his displeasure with the situation and plans to race Bell harder until Bell concedes that he’s sorry on the racetrack. Once that happens, they aim to return to normal racing dynamics12.

It’s not uncommon for tensions to arise in competitive racing, especially when former teammates are involved. In this case, Busch, who has helped Bell along the way, expects a certain level of respect from his fellow drivers. Let’s hope they find a way to move past this incident and focus on their future race.
