A Los Angeles Lakers icon has yet again taken a shot at Nikola Jokić despite the latter’s spectacular game-winning shot against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday evening when the Warriors hosted the Denver Nuggets at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
Denver Nuggets superstar center Nikola Jokić recently displayed a remarkable performance to shatter the Golden State Warriors’ hopes of pulling off an upset on Thursday. The two-time MVP unleashed a contested 40-foot, buzzer-beating shot to secure a 130-127 victory. Warriors’ Kevon Looney was able to get a hand up to block Jokić but failed.
However, eight-time All-Star center Dwight Howard claimed that the shot could have been blocked if he were on the Warriors.

Dwight Howard claims he could save Nikola Jokić’s shot
Taking to his Twitter/X account Howard praised the shot but made a bold claim.

Dwight Howard believes his prime self is better than prime Nikola Jokić
This isn’t the first time Dwight Howard has downplayed Nikola Jokić. He’s already previously stated that a prime Dwight Howard is better than a prime Jokić.
“Obviously, people going to say Jokić can score. He got all those offensive skills. But at the same time, I was getting 38 [points] and 20 [rebounds], 45-18, 19, 20, and I’m doing all this with twos,” Howard said. “No threes, all twos. I’m doing this with lobs. I’m not getting a lot of post-up attempts like Jokić.”
This is certainly an odd one-sided feud which is underway between Dwight Howard and Nikola Jokić. Howard has continued to slam the Serb and the latter is yet to respond. As it seems, Howard is purposefully provoking Jokić.
We will have to wait and see if Jokić decides to respond to Dwight Howard.
