Macon Speedway recently hosted the Castrol FloRacing Night in America Series presented by Kubota. This high-octane event featured a star-studded field of Dirt Late Models competing on the high-banked fifth-mile oval, with a substantial purse of $20,000-to-win.

The anticipation and excitement were palpable as fans gathered to witness adrenaline-fueled action on the dirt track. With a hefty purse and top-tier drivers, the Castrol FloRacing Night in America at Macon Speedway was a must-watch event for racing enthusiasts.

However, the race took a dramatic turn during lap 3 when a significant incident occurred. Almost five cars collided with each other after one car blocked the way, causing a pile-up of high-speed vehicles. The crash highlighted the intense competition and the challenging nature of dirt track racing, adding to the night’s thrill and unpredictability.

Star-Studded Castrol FloRacing Night at Macon Speedway Entry List

Bobby Pierce, the reigning series champion, entered the race with an impressive track record. He had secured six major event wins since 2014, including three victories in the Lucas Oil Series. Over that span, he had earned more than $50,000 at Macon Speedway.

Shannon Babb, a five-time Herald & Review 100 winner on the DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour, was also in the mix. His experience and skill made him a formidable competitor.

Several other drivers with a history of success at Macon Speedway were expected to compete. These included Jason Feger (2022 winner), Brandon Sheppard (2020 winner), Gordy Gundaker (2018, 2019 winner), and Brian Shirley (2012 winner), among others.

Hudson O’Neal led all series regulars with three victories the previous year. His performance was closely watched by fans and fellow competitors.
