During Saturday’s 2025 NFL Draft broadcast, Mel Kiper Jr.’s anger was directed at every NFL franchise.
Kiper warned the New Orleans Saints for passing on Shedeur Sanders on Friday, the second day of the draft. All 32 teams were within the blast radius of Kiper’s on-air explosion a day later.
The Colorado quarterback finally heard his name called on Day 3 after being taken by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round. Rather than calming down after Sanders was picked, Kiper grew even angrier and repeatedly criticized the NFL’s entire prospect evaluation process.
“The NFL has been clueless for 50 years when it comes to evaluating quarterbacks,” yelled Kiper as part of his emotional rant. “Clueless. They have no idea what they’re doing in terms of evaluating quarterbacks. There’s proof of that. When they say, ‘We know exactly what we’re talking about with quarterbacks.’ They don’t.”
