Miami Dolphins has just placed their names in the records for an unprecedented record that no other franchise in the NFL has ever achieved- a seven game streak of both wins and losses, and that too, in the same season. With their 20-3 thrashing of New Orleans Saints, the Dolphins picked up their seventh straight win of the 2021 season, in which they have already suffered a seven back to back defeats.
From 1-7 to 8-7, Miami Dolphins made an incredible comeback
Miami Dolphins kicked off the ongoing NFL season in shambles. In the wake of their season opener against New England Patriots, which ended in a 17-16 win for the Dolphins, Brian Flores’ boys suffered seven losses throughout the months of September and October, and ahead of their Week 9 clash against the Houston Texans, they had dropped to 1-7.
However, the picked themselves up from that point onwards and starting with their 17-9 win over the Texans, they kept themselves unbeaten for the next six matches and with the win over Saints, they are currently on an 8-7 record, with a historic achievement of getting seven win as well as losing streak in the same season.
With tonight’s victory over the Saints, the Dolphins are now in third place in AFC East and also hold the Wild Card spot into the playoffs, bouncing back from mathematical elimination back in October.
Tua Tagovailoa completed 19 out of 26 passes with a completion rating over 90%, along with covering 198 yards and one touchdown pass and one interception. Jaylen Waddle received 10 passes, with one touchdown.
“This team stuck together, really the entire year,” Dolphins coach Brian Flores said after the win, “Obviously, we dealt with a lot of adversity early in the year. It revealed a lot – revealed the character of the guys in our locker room.”
“Our guys kept fighting, they kept sticking together, they worked hard,” added Flores.
