American actor Jason Momoa is taking a stance opposing single-use plastics. For the reason of environmental protest, he decided to shave off his long hair.

In recent times, Jason Momoa has been quite busy. The 43-year-old persists one of the only strong parts of the DC Extended Universe, along with the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom hopeful to become another billion-dollar earner.

Momoa will also be starring in the tenth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise. He would be proceeding on a different and unusual role for himself that is playing a villain. Keeping in mind the working of Fast and Furious, possibly he will be a good guy afterwards in a few movies, though. However, something which is much more important to him right now is the environmental protest.

To raise awareness for plastic ware and the way it is into the ocean, the “Wolves” star partially changed his shoulder-length iconic hairstyle by shaving it. The video was shared in Instagram.

In the clip, he said, “Aloha, everyone. Hand me those braids.”

The Game of Thrones star explained the reason behind his choice for the side-shave look, holding two braids of his freshly chopped hair.

“Shavin’ off the hair… doing it for…” said Momoa before he touched the side of his head and groaned, “I’ve never even felt the wind right there!”

He continued, “Doing it for single-use plastics. I’m tired of using plastic bottles, we gotta stop, plastic forks, all that s—, goes into our land, goes into our ocean.”

Momoa shared that he has noticed bits of single-use plastic waste floating in the ocean, at the time he was back in his native house of Hawli. He pleaded, “I’m here in Hawaii right now, and just seeing things in our ocean, it’s just so sad. Please, anything you can do to eliminate single-use plastics in your lives. Help me, plastic bottles are ridiculous… we’re going to keep going — oh, man. Love you guys. Aloha.”

The “Sweet Girl” actor captioned the video, “heres to new beginnings let’s spread the aloha. be better at protecting our land and oceans. we need to cut single use plastics out of our lives and out of our seas. plastic bottles, plastic bags ,packaging, utensils all of it. let’s aloha our ‘āina together aloha j. @mananalu.water,” he referred to his aluminum water brand.

But this is not the first time the star shaved his hair to fight single-use plastics. Back in 2019, Momoa shaved his beard for the first time in 12 years to promote aluminum recycling.

“Goodbye Drogo. Bye Arthur Curry,” Momoa said referencing two of the iconic characters he has portrayed with trademark facial hair in a YouTube video.

“I just want to do this to bring awareness that plastics are killing our planet,” said the actor as he started shaving his cheeks.

The video on Instagram was captioned by Momoa as: “I’m SHAVING this beast off, It’s time to make a change. A change for the better … for my kids, your kids, the world. Let’s make a positive change for the health of our planet. Let’s clean up our oceans, our land. Join me on this journey. Let’s make the switch to infinitely recyclable aluminum.”
